Setting Your Product Goals

Product goals complement your overall target and budget. Product Goals can be set for different segments of your assortment (products of a specific brand, products within a specific price range, products belonging to a specific category, etc.).

When you enter the Product Goals page, you will find an overview of all currently set product goals.

The order of the Product Goals is important: if a product is assigned to more than one goal, it will only be matched to the goal with the higher relative priority.

By default, newly created Product Goals have the lowest priority order. The priority of the new goal can be adjusted after its creation.

Life Hack

Select a title that truly reflects the goal and use the note section in order to preserve the thoughts behind setting this goal.

Advertising Mode

When a new product goal is added, the relevant advertising mode should be selected. The advertising mode enables you to provide guidance on the relevance of specific products or product groups to your business. This information will be used to inform the segmentation of your inventory, along with other data signals. Set a more assertive advertising mode for products that are of greater strategic importance to your business.

Schedule Product Goals

A Product Goal Schedule allows you to define a time frame within which the Product Goal is considered active and otherwise inactive. It can be configured by selecting 'Schedule...' from the Status drop-down menu in the product goal details and specifying a start and end date.

Manually manage product-to-campaign assignment with Product Goals

In the Advertising Mode dropdown, select the 'Manually Managed' checkbox if you wish to control the product goal manually without activating any Advertising Mode. Please allow a few minutes for the update to take effect. Afterward, you can assign these products within the campaign details by selecting Add Product Filter and choosing Product Goals.

Attention!

Manual products do not receive an orchestrator score or are automatically assigned to any campaign. Please consider the priority of your goals: previous rules regarding priority still apply.

Life Hack

If goals with higher priority cover all available products, the product count could be zero in a lower priority goal.
