What happens if a campaign is paused in Campaign Orchestrator while active in Google Ads?

If a campaign is paused in Campaign Orchestrator, no products will be assigned to it. If campaign sync is activated, the campaign in Google Ads will also be set to pause with the next sync. This ensures that your campaigns are always in sync and that your products are being assigned to the correct campaigns.

What does "Publish Changes" trigger?

"Publish Changes" triggers the synchronization with your Google Ads and Google Merchant Center immediately instead of a scheduled synchronization happening once per day.

What is the impact of having more product goals and advertising modes than campaigns?

What should I keep in mind when assigning products to goals?

When assigning products to goals, keep in mind that the default product assignment is unrestricted. This means that without a product filter, all products will be assigned to the product goal. To manage multiple assignments, prioritise product goals, where the goal with higher priority takes precedence.

Can I define product filters for future product attributes?

Yes, when adding product filters, you can define values for attributes like product types and custom labels that are anticipated to exist in the future, even if they do not currently exist in the feed.

How do I set the priority for product goals?

Prioritise product goals by setting their priority levels in the platform, ensuring that in case of multiple assignments, the goal with the higher priority is chosen.

What happens if no product filter is set for a product goal?

If no product filter is set, all products will be assigned to the product goal by default, which may not be the intended outcome. Always define product filters to control assignments.

Why does the product filter show 0 matching products?

Your product filter is set for a lower prioritised campaign and higher prioritised campaigns already include these products. You can edit the priority of a campaign by clicking on the three dots in the upper right corner, select “Change priorities” and then drag & drop the campaigns.

When should I set a product goal and when should I add product filters to a campaign?

Product Goals define the strategic importance of an assortment segment for your business. Product Filters ensure that certain products are assigned to a campaign.

Let's take a simplified example:

Your product categories are Shoes (L1) and Running Shoes (L2). Running Shoes have a high margin. Over the next 2 weeks you plan to run a sales campaign for Nike Running Shoes.

Product Goals:

Prio | Filters | Advertising Mode

1 |category L2 = Running Shoes | Aggressive or Super Aggressive

2 |category L1 = Shoes | Normal

Campaigns:

Prio | Campaign Type | Campaign Name | tROAS | Products

1 | manual | Push Nike Running Shoes | low | all Nike Running Shoes

2 | auto | High Score | high | Shoes with high potential

3 | auto | Low Score | low | Rest of Running Shoes, Rest of Shoes
