The purpose of the campaign orchestrator is to identify the optimal campaign setup and structure across advertising platforms, with the objective of achieving the defined goals within the given budget. To achieve this, a number of factors are taken into account, including product performance, overall goal, product goals and budget settings. These are combined in order to:
1. Determine which product should be assigned to which campaigns (across advertising platforms)
2. Recommend the ideal settings for your bidding strategy, budget and campaign structure (across advertising platforms)
Once the campaign has been added, please ensure that campaign sync is enabled. You may either choose to synchronise the newly created campaign with an existing campaign in Google Ads, or alternatively, allow the Campaign Orchestrator to create a new Google Ads campaign.

If you chose to sync to an existing Google Ads campaign, some settings of that campaign will be overwritten. See Campaign Sync Section for details.
Please be aware that the sequence in which your campaigns are listed is significant. If a product is allocated to multiple campaigns, it will only be matched to the campaign with the higher relative priority.
By default, newly created campaigns have the lowest priority order.
Publish Changes
Any changes you make to the campaigns will be taken into account during the next scheduled run of the Campaign Orchestrator. The scheduled run takes place every day during the night (CEST-time). Contact your smec team today to discuss the details or to arrange a schedule.
Life Hack You can also click “Publish Changes” to trigger this immediately. Please note that the publishing process can take up to several hours. |
Campaign Sync
The Campaign Sync functionality enables the synchronisation of selected settings of Google Ads campaigns based on the configuration of the Campaign Orchestrator. Moreover, asset and listing groups are synchronised with a template campaign. The synchronisation process is initiated upon clicking the "Publish Changes" button and is also triggered at regular intervals according to a pre-defined schedule.
The campaign settings included in the campaign sync are as follows: campaign name, campaign status, budget and bidding strategy. Upon triggering the campaign sync, the values in Google Ads are updated in accordance with the configured values in the campaign orchestrator.
Attention! Please note that the campaign sync does not consider changes made directly in Google Ads. Consequently, if you modify the budget of a campaign managed by the Campaign Orchestrator directly in Google Ads, the campaign sync will revert to the value specified in the campaign configuration during the next scheduled run. |
Template Campaign
In addition to the campaign settings, asset groups are updated using a template campaign defined during the initial setup. This template provides all assets—videos, images, headlines—and sets key asset group parameters such as name, status, final URLs, and audience signals. Listing groups are also synchronised with the template, but those filtered by the custom label are adjusted based on the campaign name to ensure proper product allocation to the correct campaign.
